The discovery call

Let’s see if we’re a fit.

Thirty minutes. Free. No pitch, no slide deck, no pressure to commit on the call. Just a real conversation about your situation and whether what I do is what you actually need.

§ 01 · How it goes

What actually happens on a discovery call.

Three things, in order. The whole call is built to give us both enough information to decide whether to keep talking — nothing more, nothing less.

You share your situation

What’s on your mind that brought you here. What you’ve tried. What’s working, what isn’t. I’ll mostly listen for the first ten minutes.

I ask questions

The kind a coach asks to figure out what would actually help. Not a sales discovery, not a needs-assessment for a product. Just questions.

We decide what’s next

If it makes sense, we talk about next steps — project, ongoing, or just a referral to someone who fits better. If not, no hard feelings, no follow-up sequence.

§ 02 · Pick a time

Book the call.

Live availability below. I work on a surge schedule, so slots open in concentrated windows — pick what fits, and the meeting link comes by email.

§ 03 · The one question

One short question before the call.

When you book, there’s one question on the form: “What’s on your mind that brought you here today?”

Two or three sentences is plenty. Could be a specific decision (529 vs. brokerage, retirement gap, insurance review), or a general unease (we know we should be doing better). Either is fine. What it does is let me show up to our call already thinking about your situation, not asking you to start from zero.

§ 04 · Prefer email first?

Some questions need a paragraph, not a phone call.

If you’d rather send a note before scheduling, that’s totally fine. I read every message I receive and reply within two business days.

§ 05 · Quick answers

Three things people ask before they book.

Is the call really free?

Yes. No card, no commitment, no hidden assessment fee at the end. The discovery call costs me thirty minutes and costs you the same. If we work together afterward, that’s where the pricing kicks in — clearly listed on the Services page.

Do I need to prepare anything?

No. Don’t bring statements, don’t run numbers, don’t tidy up the spreadsheet. The first call is conversation, not data collection. If we keep working together, we’ll have a structured intake process — but that’s later.

Will you try to sell me something on the call?

No. I’m a financial coach — there is no product to sell. The only “ask” at the end of a discovery call is whether you’d like to keep talking. If not, we shake hands (virtually) and that’s it.
